  • Month and Year of Child’s Birth: Collected to understand the general age range of users and to analyze which age groups are finding the most success with our app. This data helps us improve the overall effectiveness of the learning tools provided.
  • Lesson Activity: Tracks the child’s progress, including levels completed, scores, and milestones to provide insights into their learning journey.
  • Voice Recordings and Writings: Collected for assessment purposes to help evaluate a child’s progress in reading, writing, and spelling. This data may also be used for product improvement to ensure our tools and services continually enhance the learning experience.
  • Device ID: Collected to ensure the proper functioning of the app across multiple devices. This allows us to provide a seamless user experience when accessing the app on different devices.

App Data:

  • Account Setup and Service Administration: The email, family name, and child’s details are used to create and maintain your account, deliver services, and provide customer support.
  • Age Group and Success Analysis: The month and year of birth are used to understand the age range of children using the app and analyze which age groups are experiencing the most success with our tools.
  • Learning and Assessment: Voice recordings and writings are used to assess the child’s learning progress, deliver personalized feedback, and improve the educational content and experience.
  • App Functionality Across Devices: The device ID ensures that the app works consistently across different devices, maintaining progress and account settings regardless of which device is being used.
  • Product Improvement: Aggregated, non-personalized data, including voice recordings and writings, may be used to improve the Mighty Doodle® product, ensuring that it continues to meet the needs of its users.

COPPA Compliance and Children’s Privacy

In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without obtaining verifiable parental consent.

  • Parental Consent: We obtain consent via a checkbox in the application that states ‘I am over 13 years old and consent to the company’s privacy policy, regarding data collection and use in the app. This ensures that parents are fully aware of the information we collect and how it’s used before continuing with creating an account.

    • Access and review the personal information collected from their child.
    • Request the deletion of their child’s information at any time.
    • Revoke their consent and stop the collection of further data from their child.
