Mighty Doodle is designed for children in 1st – 4th grades.
Take this quick quiz to discover if your child is ready. Note all that apply to your child:
Developing early reading skills
- Can your child recognize letters and their sounds?
- Does your child understand letters have names and are different from each other and specific sounds go with specific letters?
- Does your child play with sounds in words (e.g., rhyming)?
- Does your child understand that text is read from left to right and top to bottom? (Print Awareness)
Shows interest in books and storytelling
- Does your child enjoy being read to and looking at books?
- Can your child listen to and engage with simple stories?
- Does your child show curiosity about writing and attempt to write or draw letters?
Has a basic vocabulary and is eager to learn new words
- Does your child know the names of many things? (typically 3,000-5,000 words for school beginners)
- Does your child show curiosity about the meanings of new words they encounter?
Can focus on activities for short periods without constant supervision
- Is your child able to engage with books or literacy activities independently for up to 20-30 minutes?
- Does your child show interest in writing or drawing activities without constant direction?
